50 Shades of Grey is a love story. But it goes beyond that. It is a story about two characters with different sexual desires. A story of a man who got introduced into a sexual habit he became a victim of. A story of a woman who falls in love and tries to come to terms with her man’s sexuality. 50 Shades is about desire, erotic and the will to love or not to love. It is about daring to embrace the other and leaving your comfort zone. A roller coaster of emotions, decisions, compromises and how to find a common ground, with both characters not completely willing to give in to the other. The movie is funny and witty, yes the first scene starts with a laugh and you laugh your way through.
I do not see any form of abuse on the female protagonist in 50 Shades nor understand why people call it an anti-feminist movie. From the beginning both the protagonist know exactly what they were getting into, and agreed to it. All the women mentioned were neither lied to nor forced into DSMS.
I now intend to read all the books and yes I will definitely watch the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey!

True Lion, my abuse is concerning the women bc most people are singing that the women are abused. I don’t see it. I already stated on my commentary to you that the only abuse I see is that of Mr Grey when he was 15 years old.
John, there certainly is a nice story, depending on how you see it. Some people find it lame, others great. I found it intriguing and wanted to see the end. I was just not too convinced of the acting, esp the male protagonist 🙂
I have heard about this book and now the film but I have never read the book nor watch the film. One thing I have gathered following news streams of this recently is that it is a very controversial book and film and it is a typical example of one man’s meat being another’s poison. Some talk of it being a story of abuse and suppression while some consider it a love story. I can’t say much since I am just as ignorant about it all but one thing is sure this controversy will probably propelthis authour to the best seller and box office lists because it seems our societies’ curious minds now love controversy.

Read Book 1 of the trilogy (50 Shades of Grey) years ago when it first came out. Didn’t see the brouhaha then and still don’t see it now. A friend offered me Book 2 as a gift and 1 year later it’s still sitting in my kindle unread. Still don’t get the hype *shrugs*
I’d rate the book 3 Stars. Movie, no idea since I haven’t watched and won’t be watching, except maybe fast-forward 1 year and it’s shown on TV on a night I have nothing else to do hehehe.
